LDA: “I heard you play amazing tunes by Cristina Monet, or Lizzy Mercier Descloux. Do you find it difficult for a DJ to make people dance on such old/rather unknown songs in Paris?”

Pippa: “I think the trick is to know WHEN to drop a song like that…if you play a completely retro set you run the risk of people asking you to please play something from this century! But if you play a track by Cristina, Lizzy Mercier Descloux or Caroline Loeb for instance at the right moment, it can sound really modern. And I guess that is one of the things that makes me enjoy being a DJ - I can spread music propaganda and introduce something amazing to young people - perhaps the only advantage to being as old as I am is that I have been loving music for an eternity!!!!”
